Advantages of Zirconia Coating

Metal and non-metal materials are used in dental coatings. Metal materials do not satisfy patients in terms of appearance. However, it is possible to achieve a more natural look thanks to a white alloy called zirconium. We recommend zirconia coating treatment to our patients who have problems with tooth color or dental restoration. Why?

- It is quite durable.

- It is possible to achieve a more natural appearance because it transmits light. While metal substances give an opaque appearance, zirconium substance is more radiant.

- It harmonizes with your other teeth.

- In this treatment, teeth are trimmed less, and you do not lose your own natural teeth.

- It is quite easy to give the material dimensions and shape.

- It adapts easily to the gums.

- Since it does not contain metal, there is no odor or taste change in the mouth.

- If they are removed, there is no tissue loss in the teeth.

Zirconia coating is not recommended for long teeth in the back of the jaw, as the risk of fracture will be high. Also, if we encounter negative situations such as gum inflammation, we first treat these problems and then proceed with the application.

Who Can Have Zirconia Coating Treatment?

It is one of the treatment methods we recommend for our patients with overlapping, color, and shape changes in their teeth. We do not recommend the treatment to individuals with heart conditions and adolescents in their developmental stage. Because jaw development is not yet complete in adolescence, constant renewal is required. Coating materials are very long-lasting. If oral hygiene is taken care of, we can say that the coating is lifelong. It is less brittle than the porcelain material used in coating. When any fracture or crack occurs in the tooth, it is possible to repair the situation in clinical settings. Since zirconia coating can be made with computer support, its compatibility with your teeth is higher than other coating materials.
