Flags are Symbols of a Nation
The Turkish Nation's Love and Respect for the Flag is Different
Every nation has its own flag or banner. However, some nations, especially we Turks, are willing to even give their lives for their flag. Our flag, watered with the blood of martyrs and bearing the crescent and star, is sacred to us. We always and everywhere respect our own flag first, and then the flags of all the world's nations. Anyone with a conscience of humanity does so.
What are the Meanings on Our Flag?
Our flag is not an ordinary flag. There is meaning in every thread. The red color on it represents the blood of our martyrs. The crescent on our flag is a symbol of Islam. The five-pointed star opposite the crescent represents the five pillars of Islam. It is also produced and used within the rules and specifications set by the state. It is never dropped on the ground.
