Protecting Trees from Frost

Protecting Trees from Frost

Ways to Protect from Frost

Winter has arrived, and like all living things, trees also begin to seek ways to protect themselves from the cold. For humans, this is easily handled by wearing winter clothes such as coats and jackets. However, the situation is different for trees. While trees are not affected by normal cold, they are greatly affected by frost and need protection. Otherwise, problems like drying out and not bearing fruit can occur. There are several different ways to protect trees from frost. Although these methods are not fully effective, they do work.

Protection from Frost in Different Ways

Chemical or conventional methods are used to protect trees from frost. Protection through chemical spraying should generally be repeated every three to five days. Otherwise, its effect will be lost. Apart from this, the fogging method provides protection, although it is a temporary method. When frost is expected, fires are lit, and the fogging method is applied. If it is a small garden, covering them can also be a different approach.
